The weather has been so gorgeous here except for the crazy thunder and lightening storms we have been having here in Ontario!  The other day my house shook and I thought there was an earthquake, I woke up in the middle of the night rattled and confused.  Turns out that it was just the thunder that shook the house so much!

Regardless I put in a lot of hours at the restaurant and I have been having a lot of fun working there.  The whole staff is amazing and I am meeting a lot of great people.  It is great to have two days off to relax because my whole body and my mind are exhausted!  Yesterday I dropped three side plates on the floor in the middle of the restaurant and they shattered everywhere.  I am not known to drop things (at work) so I was a little bit embarassed to say the least especially since everyone in the whole place went silent and looked at me.  At least I have a great support team and people were already leaning over to pick up the pieces and someone had gone to get the broom.  It is such a better experience at work when it is a team environment and people are there to love and support each other not compete or bring each other down.

I am on my way over to my girlfriend's house, we had quite a crazy incident a couple weekends ago and it left her feeling a little bit hurt and confused.  I am going to bring her flowers and hopefully cheer her up!

Speaking of flowers I have been loving them so much this season.  My brother and dad both brought me a flower back from Hawaii with a hair clip so I love to spice up boring outfits with them! 

Today I decided to go with a floral skirt theme and here are the results.

This weekend was super busy at my work!  We had our grand opening patio party on Thursday and I have been working tons saving up a ton of money.  I haven't had a chance to go shopping in so long, I am going tomorrow since I have a day off!


I haven't gotten any outfits shot or anything like that but I did snap a few pictures on my phone lately so I thought I'd share a quick update!


Weather is finally warmer and I have lots of plans for this summer!  What are yours?

Close up on my mom's vintage necklace.  She got it as a gift from my grandparents when she was 13.  If you lift it up to look at it it shows you the time so it hangs upside down.  It has no battery and the wind-up stopped working years ago, but I still love it!

Love & friendship

Love changes and best friends become strangers


Late at night I get thinking about life and what truly makes life worth living: friends and love.  Everyone is brought up differently with different values, role models and aspirations.  Relationships begin, grow, change, end, and sometimes they last.  Often your family will play a role in how you build relationships.  Being an only child is different from having siblings; brothers and sisters can also affect how one behaves in a relationship.


For example, a man who has a sister can be much more empathetic towards a woman's needs and everyday issues.  A woman with brothers may be able to relate to men more on a primal level. A woman with sisters who are much more successful and good looking than she is may feel like everything has to be a competition and she may not ever feel good enough.  She may allow a man to dither and go for other women as long as she still feels secure because he comes home to her.  An only child may be like this too, because they often look for attention, money, and security because they are so used to being spoiled.  It takes a real superstar parent to raise an only child without them becoming shallow. 


I do not mean to stereotype but I have had friends who put up with all sorts of disgusting behaviour from their men, who showed different values than what I cherish.  I believe in true love, honesty, respect and loyalty.  I do not tollerate people in my life who do not honour the same qualities.  I have really cared for people who have misunderstood my actions and made assumptions about me without proof.  They have shown a true face of materialistic and shallow morals in the end.  I am friends (to an extent) with most people I have dated but men who have cheated and lied or two-timed me do not make the cut.  You cannot control who you have feelings for but you can control who you let in your life.

Life is short, I love it every day, I have so much love to give and it really is a shame when it gets wasted.

Working girl

I am never surprised by other people's behaviour, but I am often disappointed.

Quick photo of me at my new job, Earl's!  I love it so much, it is a chain from out West and there is a great staff and the food and atmosphere are incredible.  I am working about 45 hours a week so sorry for the lack of updates!  It has been raining nonstop too I can not wait for it to to start to be beautiful out like it was today!  We had the doors open up to the patio and I loved it because I am just such a summer girl.  I am wearing so many colours when I can now because all I wear at work is black.

The seasonal dress code is gold, tan and animal print accessories.

I love mixing up my belts, accessories, and outfits!  We have to wear heels so I found a comfy one inch wedge, they are a lifesaver.

This dress is from Beyond the Rack.  It was 20$ and I love it!
My collection of arm bangles is growing since they help accessorize my work outfits.  I had to get a new jewelry box to put them in, I will show you how they are displayed soon.
I used to think that silver jewelry only looked good on me, but my gold collection is growing now too, it is nice sometimes to mix it up!

On the bright side I had an awesome weekend I got to spend some time with a girlfriend I had not seen for a while.  It was recently my best friend's birthday, so we had a party at her house last night then went to some shoebox club upstairs on top of a pub and had a blast there as well.  I took a bunch of pictures but you only get to see one for now because I am waiting for my friend to upload some that she took so that I can post all of them for you guys.

I start a new job tomorrow!  So excited it should be amazing!  Details soon.

I recently bought two pairs of black pumps because I need to wear heels while I am working, the girls at my work dress so cute, I can't wait to show you guys!  I also bought some accessories to spice up the plain black.

I needed something to do to avoid studying for my exam tomorrow so I made a shopping list of just a few items I would love to purchase in the upcoming future.  The Miu Miu baithingsuit is amazing!  I love the colour, the shape, and the little white bow accent.  Perfect for me but I don't know if I would like the tan lines.  Oh summer, please come faster!

Isabel Marant spring 2011

I love this outfit!  It is chic and casual, with just the right amount of colour for me.  I love her entire spring line it is to die for!

Out with some girlfriends!  More pictures will be up soon, my outfit has two cut-out mesh sides that I am thinking about removing from the dress so that skin will be showing there.  You will see what I mean soon!

Exam tomorrow as well (of course I am procrastinating by doing this blog) but it is a blessing in disguise that my friend has an exam tomorrow too, and she's much better at actually studying so she hasn't put her pictures up yet.  Otherwise I would be on here for much longer and posting way more pictures!

I went out to a club last night with my girlfriend and something interesting happened; I found a CD just hanging around.  It was house music and when I put it on in my car I fell in love.  Now that is some brilliant PR, promotional material that captures someone's attention randomly and they become a fan for life.  I thought I'd hype him on here because the songs were awesome if you like house or electronic music then this is definitely worth checking out.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when I forget to brush my teeth before I go to sleep in fact I am almost 24 years old and I still don't have a cavity.  I went to my girlfriend's house unprepared and I was taking care of her at the end of the night because she had a few too many drinks, needless to say I did not brush my teeth before I went to bed and I HATED it, so it inspired me to give you guys a few of the beauty tricks I use to stay fresh when I am partying or out all night.  If you are going out:

1)  BRING A TOOTHBRUSH.  Enough said.


SOME MORE ESSENTIALS

1)  BODY SHOP body butter - The original, and amazing.  This one is coconut with shimmer and as far as I know it is the only scent available with a shimmer and I usually just use it when I go out to the club. It is available in a plethora of flavours and without shimmer if that's not your thing.
2)  FAST shampoo - Available at Trade Secrets.  Contains herbs and amino acids to make your hair grow super fast, since we kill our hair with the dryer and straightener and that damage can prevent your hair from growing at full speed.
3)  CAKE satin sugar hair and body powder - This is an amazing alternative to baby powder in your hair when it is a little greasy or you've been dancing hard all night.  Throw a little of this on your roots and your hair will look like you just washed it and smell fantastic.  I personally don't recommend use on your body.
4)  PERFUME SAMPLES - Any brand you like in a smaller form will be handy in your clutch when you go out for the night.
5)  MAC  Concealer pot and studio fix are AMAZING.  Studio fix gets rid of shine where the cover up is amazing for under the eyes when you look tired.


And now some pictures from my night out!  I got dressed for the day time then decided to go out last minute so my outfit is pretty plain -  I would have definitely added some colour to my outfit, plus my sweaterdress ended up being super hot!
