Let's go to the beach

Ohh been feeling so fly since you’ve been gone
My face to the sky, sunglasses on
Turnin' up the beat so sick
I’m like a brand new chick

- Anjulie -- Brand New Chick

Beautiful weather here in Toronto!  I am loving my summer.  I got a weekends only job doing bottle service at a swanky upscale chic sexy nightclub and I think it is going to be a lot of fun!  This way I can focus more on doing my blog during the week as well as looking for jobs in my field of PR & Communications.

TREND UPDATE

Wedges are so hot right now!  You have to be careful because some wedges are just ridiculous and others are fabulous.  Here are some that I love.

Neon has made a huge comeback since my preteen years (back in the 90's) when everyone wanted to dress like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.  These bright hughes are huge this summer!  I am on a hunt for something in yellow, hopefully something similar to this gorgeous piece by Elise Overland.

I have always loved pink and this shade is stunning!  This dress by Jason Wu shows three other great trends, cutouts, maxi length skirting as well as sheer overlay.  Photo via Imaxtree.
Can't forget colour blocking!  I am on the hunt for something yellow and I love this whole outfit by Nina Ricci.  I would wear every piece especially the gorgeous high waisted skirt.  The bow detail on the top really adds perfect detail to finish the look.  Photo via Imaxtree.

Patterns are huge right now!  More trends to try:  Tribal prints & crop tops are super cute if worn properly.  Coming soon to a post near you.  Here is a great clutch I am lusting over by Jimmy Choo, it combines neon with a gorgeous leopard pattern!

I am loving the cigarette-hole and crochet effect for summer.   It is easier to layer on your knits when it is cool and breezy at night and it gives and edgy sophisticated look.  Today's outfit is brought to you by a gorgeous skirt I picked up at BCBG that features tiny cigarette-hole detailing that I am in love with!  The skirt is super soft and a pale, nude colour.  So many outfits planned for this baby!  Here are some photos of my outfit for today.
What do you think?  Shirt tucked in or out?  I am wearing my mother's vintage clock necklace and a stack of bracelets I grabbed randomly before heading outside.  The skirt was down from $220 to $50!
Close up on the details of the cigarette-holes!  The skirt has a suede feel but not as heavy.

Top - Costa Blanca
Bracelets - Random & vintage (on the far right)

Ring - Nanna's

I am working as a bottle service girl on the weekend!  Super excited to meet some new people and make some cash.
For tomorrow... heading to the beach!  Which bikini to wear?  Hmmmm...
My camera is coming along to the beach with me!  Can not wait to soak up the sun.

Bikinis:
Roxy
Victoria's Secret
La Vie En Rose
Corona

Old Navy

Hope you are having a great week!

New Years Bodypaint Disaster

2am at home, in pyjamas

1am at pizza pizza...the girl who assured me the paint would "wash off"...i wonder how long she spent in the shower

11pm on the dance floor...in the back right corner the body paint throwing began

my boyfriend and me at 1145am... hiding from the body paint throwers

my best friend and me getting ready in the bathroom, 9pm

11pm on the dancefloor, minutes before the splatter

The outfit:
350$ Jimmy Choo black leather dress
DKNY tights
Dollhouse studded ankle boots
Vintage clutch

The event:
Masquerade @ St Stephen's Church in Toronto

The dilemma:
I arrived at this event with my boyfriend and my best friend Natalie. I saved a dress which I bought a few months ago for this particular event, a black leather Jimmy Choo for H&M dress that I loooove. The venue was gorgeous, but the attitude was of high school drama and immaturity. Some clever tricksters decided to throw around "washable" body-paint around, and for some reason I was a target over my 6"4 boyfriend or my booty-licious friends. After my boyfriend came to the rescue and stole a cloth from the bar's kitchen (the one-stall bathroom had lineups and fights over it) we spent half an hour cleaning the paint off my dress. We had a few minutes of countdown celebration, hiding out in the back, but as soon as we hit the dancefloor I got splattered again. We left the bar by 12:30 and continued the party at my house.
The bartenders at my work were rolling in money the next day and I was scrubbing the paint off my gorgeous leather-themed outfit.
Great times.
Happy new years to all, and I'm hoping that the year to come will contain health, happiness, and hot outfits. :) <3

Xoxo

Jimmy Choo for H&M Lust Item

I absolutely ADORE this dress.
There were lines outside the opening of Jimmy Choo for H&M of about 300 people before the doors even opened here in Toronto. Someone is selling my dress I wanted, in my size, for 400$. I say it's absolutely worth it. What do you think?

Countdown to Jimmy Choo @ H&M

This worldwide launch has been talked about for months...

I'm wondering if it will be worth the hype when we see the launch in-store. There seems to be one pair of thigh-high boots, will every girl and her dog want a pair? Lots of shiny, metallic hues... I'm thinking I might grab a clutch & a dress. There is more of a variety with the heels than with the boots, and I must say the heels are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. H&M is launching everything from jewelry to bags and clothes... These 80's inspired styles won't last long!!! I might grab a few of the more "practical" pieces, and I'm willing to bet you'll be seeing this collection EVERYWHERE by Winter 2010.

AVAILABLE IN STORES NOVEMBER 14, 2009
