City rhythm

We'll be celebrating, dancing until dawn,
Come on dry your tears now, put your dark glasses on,
Tonight in Babylon

Gonna be a revolution, a change is gonna come,
Gonna be a new beginning, gonna shine on everyone
Tonight in Babylon, tonight in Babylon

Maybe we should go out dancing, put the red light on,

Everybody knows it's over, we knew it all along,
Tonight in Babylon, tonight in Babylon
- LoveRush UK ft. Bryan Adams -- Tonight in Babylon
My life has been so fast-paced and hectic lately!!!  I feel like it has been forever since I have done a blog post.  My new internship downtown takes up 12 hours of my day with commuting and I also travel around the city to various bars doing promotions in my spare time.
A few weeks ago I attended an event for America's Next Top Model here in Toronto.
I wanted to share with you a few of the photos, I went for two days and got to see Canadian talent Danny Fernandes and Trish perform live, along with dozens of other fashion shows, product stands and events.  The photos were taken on my iPhone, and I found the models were mostly sprinting down the runway so I didn't get a lot of close-ups.

Coming up next:  I am working on a new site that will have a plethora of content in the fashion and technology departments.  I plan on launching in the fall with a domain and a brand new layout -- stay tuned for previews and updates.
I also plan to showcase my favourite designs from the 2012 Resort collections.  Summer is right around the corner and I hope you are all experiencing lovely weather!

Monday inspiration

I let it fall, my heart,
And as it fell, you rose to claim it
It was dark and I was over
Until you kissed my lips and you saved me

My hands, they're strong
But my knees were far too weak
To stand in your arms
Without falling to your feet
- ADELE -- SET FIRE TO THE RAIN

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone is having a great start to their week.
I found these photos on the ThreadSence website and I had to share them with you.
The photos are trendy and inspirational.  I love the crochet details, the relaxed flowing fits contrasting with the more structured pieces, neutrals mixing with brights, florals and prints, bohemian and tribal accessories, a fedora, girly details... all heavenly!
Lots of great ideas for outfits that will keep you cool if it is scorching hot the way it is in Toronto.

Have a great week and check back soon!

Let's go to the beach

Ohh been feeling so fly since you’ve been gone
My face to the sky, sunglasses on
Turnin' up the beat so sick
I’m like a brand new chick

Beautiful weather here in Toronto!  I am loving my summer.  I got a weekends only job doing bottle service at a swanky upscale chic sexy nightclub and I think it is going to be a lot of fun!  This way I can focus more on doing my blog during the week as well as looking for jobs in my field of PR & Communications.

TREND UPDATE

Wedges are so hot right now!  You have to be careful because some wedges are just ridiculous and others are fabulous.  Here are some that I love.

Neon has made a huge comeback since my preteen years (back in the 90's) when everyone wanted to dress like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.  These bright hughes are huge this summer!  I am on a hunt for something in yellow, hopefully something similar to this gorgeous piece by Elise Overland.

I have always loved pink and this shade is stunning!  This dress by Jason Wu shows three other great trends, cutouts, maxi length skirting as well as sheer overlay.  Photo via Imaxtree.
Can't forget colour blocking!  I am on the hunt for something yellow and I love this whole outfit by Nina Ricci.  I would wear every piece especially the gorgeous high waisted skirt.  The bow detail on the top really adds perfect detail to finish the look.  Photo via Imaxtree.

Patterns are huge right now!  More trends to try:  Tribal prints & crop tops are super cute if worn properly.  Coming soon to a post near you.  Here is a great clutch I am lusting over by Jimmy Choo, it combines neon with a gorgeous leopard pattern!

I am loving the cigarette-hole and crochet effect for summer.   It is easier to layer on your knits when it is cool and breezy at night and it gives and edgy sophisticated look.  Today's outfit is brought to you by a gorgeous skirt I picked up at BCBG that features tiny cigarette-hole detailing that I am in love with!  The skirt is super soft and a pale, nude colour.  So many outfits planned for this baby!  Here are some photos of my outfit for today.
What do you think?  Shirt tucked in or out?  I am wearing my mother's vintage clock necklace and a stack of bracelets I grabbed randomly before heading outside.  The skirt was down from $220 to $50!
Close up on the details of the cigarette-holes!  The skirt has a suede feel but not as heavy.
Skirt - BCBG
Top - Costa Blanca
Bracelets - Random & vintage (on the far right)
Booties - BCBG
Ring - Nanna's

I am working as a bottle service girl on the weekend!  Super excited to meet some new people and make some cash.
For tomorrow... heading to the beach!  Which bikini to wear?  Hmmmm...
My camera is coming along to the beach with me!  Can not wait to soak up the sun.

Bikinis:
Roxy
Victoria's Secret
La Vie En Rose
Corona
Garage
Old Navy
Bikini Village

Hope you are having a great week!

Paradise Island

Whenever, wherever
We're meant to be together
I'll be there and you'll be near
And that's the deal my dear

Back from the Dominican Republic!

Hanging around the pool during a quiet Monday afternoon.  The weekend was packed full of locals since it was their long weekend in the Dominican Republic.  We saw lots of culture that's for sure!  I tried to get my tan on and I have a little bit of colour but my Icelandic/English background doesn't really allow for the ideal golden bronze colour I was aiming for.  Baithingsuit from Bikini Village, sunglasses from Guess.
Back in my room and on the balcony getting ready for dinner!  Dress from BCBG, flower from H&M.
Beach bum!  I love the beach... the sand, sun and salt water are some of my favourite things and it is definitely one of my favourite places to be.  Baithingsuit from La Vie En Rose.
Jurassic Park Mountain!  This is where they filmed the movies.  Wearing a dress from Forever 21, Tiffany key and a Prada purse.
Last day!  Bye bye paradise...

I have many more too that I will share with you soon.
A giant chess board!  I almost felt like I was in Alice in Wonderland! :)
Presents for everyone back home!

It's Canada Day!  Glad to be back home (to hot weather) and to celebrate here is a picture of Kate Middleton's amazing Maple Leaf hat that she wore to the ceremonies today.  Picture via celebuzz.
Time for some fireworks!
PS -- I turn 24 tomorrow!
