This weekend was really busy so I didn't have a chance to do any blogging.  I worked at the bar a lot and played my harp at a wedding on Saturday afternoon.  Sunday was amazing weather and I went on a boat cruise to hear lots of trance and house music, which toured around Lake Ontario.  I wouldn't recommend touching (or going too close to) the water, but it is definitely a beautiful sight at night or on a sunny day.  Here are some pictures from the cruise!  My exciting news is that I have a new job at a really nice restaurant in the GTA, on top of my bartending gig up in the boonies.  I will be serving or bartending during the week and it's very classy and will give me some more shifts to save up for my new camera that I will have hopefully this month!  Tomorrow is June, my favourite time of year is here.  Hope you all enjoy your summers :)

I don't know if you can tell, but the water is really polluted.  They recommend not letting it touch your skin at all.  Such a shame, but definitely doesn't bring the property value around the lake down any lower.

If there is one trick I use the most from the winter to summer season it is definitely blending my darker colours with lighter, brighter ones.  About half my wardrobe is only black and grey, so I love adding a bright or pastel highlight to an outfit.  Getting ready for work I realized I had a black "leather" skirt and a tube top on, and I threw on a light sheer scoopneck in pale pink to step away from looking like I am going to a funeral.
When I have more time this weekend I have a few exciting stories to share one of them involves getting slightly too intoxicated at my favourite club, the other is a surprise. Of course there will be more pictures!  I feel an inspiration post coming on soon too.  The weather is getting really nice here 30+ Celcius!  Hope it is sunny and warm where you are as well.

Happy long weekend!  I'm not sure about you but here in Canada the weather gets really beautiful around this weekend and we celebrate Victoria day or May 24, which means a lot of drunks.  A lot of people choose to go to their cottage so the nightlife at my bar is hit and miss.  So far I have made a lot of money and been very busy this week!  I have the afternoon off before my night shift so I thought I'd post a quick outfit before heading out.

Natural makeup!  I am wearing a bit of concealer, eyebrow pencil and one coat of mascara.

Close up of my old kilt.  I have no idea where I got it I've had it since elementary school.  The belt is a DIY piece of silk made into a belt and tied into a bow :)  My top is from Winners and my sweater is from Guess!

The Chanel Cruise line combined with the nicer weather has inspired me to dress with a nautical influence.   I chose a dress I picked up at Mango a while back and paired it with a cardigan, some knee high socks (of course) and some comfortable, lower white heels.  Just a quick post; heading to work!

 

In my bedroom!  I hate the carpet so much but my mom insists we keep it.  Sigh!

Bathroom!  Sitting on the floor was basically the only way to get a full outfit shot with my Macbook!

Chanel Cruise 2011

The Chanel Cruise lines are always so exciting, and I love the mini videos.  Next season is so inspirational!  I love all the colours and patterns, I'm trying to decide if I like the showcase as much as last year's sunset version.  Here are a few of my favourite photos from the line!

Pink white and black is probably my favourite colour combination especially for spring and summer.

This is a really fun look and the best part is that the shorts look like you could pretty much get a version anywhere for cheap.

I am just adoring the socks in this photo!  Really fun frock, in the classic Chanel black and white.  Such a fabulous, classy look!

I love this dress and he picked a gorgeous, full figured model to work it!  She looks fabulous and we should definitely see more women like her on the catwalk.

Absolutely stunning detail.  I would have added some black to the necklace personally I do not like how it matches with the rest of the outfit.

This hat goes back to the roots of classic Chanel but adds a funky, delicate feminine touch with the trimming.  The dress is stunning as well.

I love the cream colour and details on this skirt suit.  I would probably be too scared to wear it but it is absolutely stunning, would look great if you had a tan!

If there is one thing people are always surprised to learn it is that I play the harp.  I started when I was 7 and I play at weddings sometimes for fun and extra cash.  Along with my outfit post I am attaching a video of the most popular song I play at weddings, called Pachelbel's Cannon.  Let me know what you think!

 This is the smaller of my two harps, believe it or not.

You can see my bigger harp in front of my smaller one.  It has pedals instead of levers for sharps and flats!  If you don't know music this will mean nothing to you. :)

I love soft clothing.  The first thing I always check is the material because it is equally as important to me how the garment looks and feels.  Some of my favourites are jersey cotton, silk, satin, and cashmere.  Here is a quick outfit, all the garments are made from jersey cotton mixed with spandex.  This allows for me to move around easier at work and keeps me comfortable all night.  It is a little hazy this weekend but Toronto is promised gorgeous weather tomorrow and it is my day off!  As for tonight, I am heading to Starbucks then to work.  I usually get an iced grande white mocha, lactaid since I am lactose intolerant!  No cheese, no milk, no ice cream, no pizza!  Torture!  Here is my outit for the evening at the bar.  I am only there for four hours tonight so I don't have to worry about sore feet.  I spent this afternoon shopping and picked up a few dresses, I have some events and promotions coming up.  Check them out too!
